Erne and Melvin Enhancement Co Ltd The Erne and Melvin Enhancement Co Ltd is a non-profit taking fisheries enhancement company. Our premises have a modern brown trout fish hatchery combined with a state of the art recirculation coarse fish hatchery located at our premises in Florencecourt, Co. Fermanagh. Our year is puncuated by the natural events surrounding the fishes lives. January starts with the hatching and gowth of the alveins untill the first release in summer. Then the year ends with the collection of eggs from trout returning up the rivers to spawn. This is used to supplement the existing breeding stock and introduce new bloodlines. Our primary objectives are to restock the Lough Erne catchment with native brown trout and restock inland loughs in the catchment area with coarse fish. We are involved in managing many projects that are attempting to halt the decline of fishing stocks within the area. This includes river restoration, spawning bed restoration, consultancy and educational input into various areas.
